He challenged his students to create a unique styled statue with face expression not similar with other rakan statue.

Each student created one rakan statue and behind each statue having the name of the student who craved it. In 1980's almost 1200 students were trained for sculpting by Nishimura. At the centre of the temple big statue of Buddha is placed.

Reason for 1200 Rakan Statues

Creation of wonder by Human error ~ Fly Geyser

Fly Geyser(Fly Ranch Geyser) is a small geothermal geyser ejects constant hot springs at the temperature of 200°C. It is located at the edge of Black Rock Desert, in Nevada. This strange giant cone-shaped mountain was created by the fault of people who involved in the "Burning Man" project in 1916.
Fly Geyser

πŸ‚ Fly Geyser featured into combination of red and green colour due to the presence of thermophilic algae(kind of algae capable of alive in extreme high temperatures), which flourishes in moist condition resulting in multi-coloured formation.

πŸ‚ Fly Geyser surrounded by travertine, a white or cream-coloured sedimentary rock formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonates at the surface of water.
Burning Man Project

πŸ‚ In 1916, The Burning Man Project was initiated with drilling the well to provide water for irrigation, but later the project were abandoned due to several reasons. After one year, first geyser was formed like small cone shaped mountain with 12 feet(3 metres high).

πŸ‚ In 1964, again the project was started by drilling the second well at the same site nearer to the first geyser. The results of geothermal energy of water(Temp 200°C) remains same as the first time and not enough for the requirements, Hence it was cancelled.

πŸ‚ After the cancellation of project, they reported to capping the hole, but somewhere at the left corner failed to seal properly which resulted in deposition of minerals(Calcium Carbonates and silica) under the hole formed into a strange mountain which largely ejects geothermal water through the holes. Now the height of whole geyser is the range of 25-30 feet.

Kitayama Maruta | Daisugi Technique

"Daisugi Technique", an ancient forestery technique implemented in 14th century and today followed by many countries. At first it was discovered in Kitayama, a small village in the Japanese city, Kyoto.
              πŸ’’ "Dai" ~ "Table"
                                 "Sugi" ~ "Cedar" πŸ’’

The planting of ceder trees produces large number of glossy, round, fine, straight, thin, knot-less lumbers. One cedar tree will produce upto hundred number of "shoots". They started using this daisugi technique in order to reduce the larger plantations. Instead of planting large number of seeds, they made the growth of the tree one above the another.

During harvesting it is easy to cut the lumber without cutting the whole tree. To ensure the proper growth, it could be harvested once in every three years and the whole tree would be cut down once in 30 years. This tree can grow and protect its lumber upto 100 years. In order to maintain a knot-less lumber, the foresters often cut the extra small branches.
This tree is quite famous in Kitayama vilage, therefore the people lived in there used to call the lumber as "kitayama maruta". Later, this technique was followed by many countries in different names. The foresters might used this technique using cedar tress, it can also applicable to other trees for plantation. Majority of furnitures prefers cedar woods that's the reason behind its vast productions.
